our week in pictures :)

We have had these swans in the "fjord" (just at the bottom of our house), all winter,
All the people in our village have been very kind and fed the swans for months now. Including us.

Kieran and I have fed the swans as part of our daily routine...since we have been having such lovely spring weather.

This is the last of my yellow tulips, I love yellow flowers, it gives me such a feeling of spring, and all the anticipation and expectation of summer comes flooding over me with such delight as Ienjoy every minute of them.

Kieran just loves to be outside, and playing on his bike is one of his favoritt things, although this bike is a bit too big for him, he is quite the dare devil :) this bike was also James' first bike...and then benjamins...it has become the family heirloom:)

after kieran and I had fed the swans, and played out a bit, we walked the 10min to my mums house, where she had prepared lunch...yum yumo :) a delicious potato salad..and foccacia with cherry tomatos, it was such a treat.

Yesterday, Steven needed to change the tyres on the car. In Norway we have different tyres in the winter than in the summer, and so he recruited the best help in the village for the job!!

Kieran taking a massiv interest...making sure his dad was doing the job properly :)

" Missed a spot"..!!!

" well if you want my advice"

Having a well earned rest after such a busy week :)
Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

My favorite Make-up must have's

As I have mentioned before, Make-up is a huge passion of mine. I love, love, love make-up.
Below I have listed my absolutt favorite must have's, These items are in my kit at ALL times.

Benefit Eye Bright Pencil (pale, bright pink) is multi tasking, so well worth the money. It's great for highlighting the brow bone, for making your eyes look fresh and bright by applying it to the inner corner by the tear duckt. And I also like to use it as a base, by applying it to the entire lid, and setting with the eyeshadow of your choice, it makes the colour really pop!

Mac studiofinish conceler.(I use a NC20 shade, to hide redness) this is excellent coverage for me who suffers from rosacia. Opt for a NW shade if you want to neutralize cooler tones.
The very best under eye conceler is the Select moisture cover by MAC, to hide any signs of tired eyes and dark circle. I use shade NW 20. (I forgot to take a picture)

The benefit powder lage is the absolutt best under eye powder I have ever tried. usually I dont like to set my under eye conceler with a powder as it can set in fine lines and look chalky, but honestly , this is the best I have ever used, and it highlights the under eye area to give you a bright fresh look.

The benefit FY eye ! eye primer is honestly one of the best eye primers I have tried, I love urban decay primer potion too, but this is what I have been using the past few months. And it last forever, you only need the smallest amount to cover the entire lid.

I can apply my eye make-up in the morning, and it is still perfect when I take it off at night. with no creasing what so ever.

Painterly paint pot by MAC fits my skin tone perfectly , and will suit most skin tones, but there are lot's of tones to choose from. I use this before my eyeshadow, just to even out the skin tone, and conceal any vains on the eyelid. It provides the perfect canvas for you to be creative with eyecolour.

I realize I should have taken some pictures of me using these products and the finished result. I will do that for next time.

I have a lot more favorites to show , so stop by soon:)

retro at it's best...

I could'nt pass up the chance to buy these fab milk jugs with a "vintage" motif of corn flakes and my favoritt rice crispies..

And matching bowls. How cute are they?? James and Benjamin have each taken one for themselves...and this is what they have been eating their Breakfast cereal in.

James wanted the "Red for Liverpool" one.

And how cute are these mugs?? so sweet. All these where bought rom a shop called " kremmerhuset" in bergen.

Right i'm off to make a nice cuppa in my new mugs :)

Have a FAB weekend :)

A windy walk with Nan :)

Kieran and Nan went out for a lovely walk, the weather was grey and windy...but at least no snow!!

But of course there is no show without punch !!!( an english expresion) James and Ben went along too....on their bikes. It is the first time they have been on the " main road" on their bikes. I was ever so slightly nervous!!

We tried reigns on Kieran for the first time, as he can be a horror to walk with, refusing to hold our hands, he was not too impressed I can tell you!!

He was as good as gold, and held nannies hand, as they discovered lot's of brand new things (for kieran)

Well it was a bit windy....

Benjamin is getting the hang og riding on the road..we are lucky we dont have much traffic...but it's enough.

crocuses have begun to shoot up every where now and it is pure joy to see that spring is here after the long cold winter we finaly get to leave behind.

So as the snow shifts I'm delighted to see snowdrops, and I predict that spring this year will be spectacular.

finally a picture of the "city centre". The oddly shaped blue house top right is my house, and the tall white house on the left of the picture is where my sister and her family live.

We are lucky to live so close, and this way I can keep my eye on them at all times ;)

As another week comes to an end I am wondering what to do with our weekend...the weather forecast say's sun ,sun ,sun which means fun, fun, fun :)

Have a great weekend what ever you do :)

The easter bunny.........

This year the easter bunny got his eggs from.....e-bay!!

All us adults thought is was great having proper english easter eggs..

Cadbury's cream eggs are one of my favorite chocolates, How do you eat yours???

This is the kind of easter eggs you get in Norway, they are made out of cardboard, and you fill the eggs with easter treats of your choice.
This is actually what my children prefer...and could'nt understand why the easter bunny had brought chocolate eggs this year???

There are a lot of things we miss about England, and easter eggs is definitely one of them . It was such a treat to be able to have them this year.
We have more chocolate in the house now than Willy Wonka's factory!!
Wishing everyone a happy easter :)

First cut is the deepest.......

Yesterday we had a lovely visit from my step sister Veronica, She is a hairdresser, and so I asked if she would give the boy's hair a little trim, to make them gorgeous for easter.
James and benjamin refuse to let anyone but veronica cut their hair...and by the looks of things....Kieran will be no different.

Kieran was'nt really suppose to have his hair cut, but Veronica had no choice but to give him a little trim, as he very placidly climbed on to the chair and gestured to her to start cutting.

(notice her cute little bump.....she is expecting a little baby boy in june) xx

He loved it, and sat the entire time quite expressionless whiles Veronica trimmed..lol :)

Benjamin is a bit more sceptical...he will only let Veronica cut his hair...but even so he is a tad apprehensive.
Phew!!... thank god it's over, and it will be a while now till next time :)

Thanks to veronica for doing such a great job on the boys hair :)

we always love a visit :)

Easter weekend is finally upon us...what do you have planned??

Have a great easter

Easter :)

Easter is just around the corner....and I love all the traditional holidays..and easter is no exception. I love decorating our home with little chickens and eggs and everything easter themed, And I love it when I bring out "old" easter orniments, and the kids recognize it from the previous years...it creates traditions in our home, which the kids look forward to, and hopefully they can take with them as they have their own family and start their own traditions.

One of the things we always make, is painted eggs. The kids...and me ...love blowing the egg out of it's shell and then painting it with lovely colours and patterns. Snow still covers the earth, but warmer weather brings us out of winter captivity on a march day for a walk in the woods. We round a bend in a swampy area and, lo and behold! pussy willows greet our spring-starved eyes. We prune off a few branches studded with furry pussy willows, to be brought home and honored as spring's earliest harbinger.

A pretty easter decoration, brightens up our window :)

Yellow candles celebrates spring and easter, and fresh flowers is something I love and just have to have in my home.
Warm easter well wishes to one and all :)
