Hipp hipp hurra, hurra, hurrraaa...!!!!

We have true to tradition celebrated Norways national day the 17th may, with a kids procession, norwegian flaggs and a Marching band. Activities and games at the local comunnity centre, hotdogs, pop and unlimited amouts og ice cream, but seems two each was emough...!! Delicious food at mums with homemade sausage rolls, but it was a long day for a sleepy two year old, who took the knock before we ate..!!

The weather was not quite on our side this year, but I think we all enjoyed ourselves and had a great time and enjoyed the day even so <3

Now I'm just waiting for the rain to go off a bit so I can go out a potter around in the garden.

Spring on the terrace.

Today the kids and I went to the garden centre, and the boys helped me pick out some flowers to decorate the and make the terrace look pretty for the spring.

It has been raining all day, but I was so excited to pot the plants, that we done it as soon as we got home. Now it looks bright, colourfull and pretty. Just hope they last all summer so we can really enjoy them :)

Watch out..!!!!

Today, while I was out walking with the boys..we came across a very un welcome "tourist" a venomous Adder snake :(( in Norway as in other european countries, it is illegal to kill, injure or harm the adder and it is categorised as "endangered" . I must admitt though, I do not like thethought of them around, I did on this occasion resist killing it, as I had the boy's with me, but had I been alone, I'm not so sure I would have shown the same courtesy.

I will for sure be more alert while out for walks in this warm dry weather from now on!

Lovely days in april..

We have had some really lovely days in april. Easter, family and friends visiting and gorgous weather to top it all off. We really have enjoyed every single day of the easter break.
Every year around easter, I invite some friends for a easter brunch. we look forward to it just as much every year. this year we where 6 adults and 7 kids. We ate lovely food, the kids had a good play together and us aldus had a good gab and catch up for a few hours, then later in the evening when the kids where in bed, we got together again for a drink and a giggle..thoroughly enjoyed the whole day :)

Kieran and I took my mum to a nearby village called Våge, one day last week, she had some errands there..so while we waited we had a little picnic on the water front in the sunshine and had a little play on the swings and slides..the time past so quickly, and before you know it , it was time to drive home. But Kieran had a great time on the slide.

With all this gorgous easter weather we are having, it was time to get the garden furniture and BBQ out, we have enjoyed our evening meals outside every night this week..and a relaxing cup of tea in between. It is so peacefull and calming sitting outside with a soothing cup of tea when the kids have gone to bed. Really look forward to more of this great weather and sunshine..so we can enjoy many more delightful days and evenings out here.

And finaly ...the morning the boy's have been waiting for had arrived! Yes he'd been..the easter bunny had been..!! He even left the boy's a note with clues as to where
their eggs where hidden, so with clues in hand off they set to scour the garden for clues and hopefully find some eggs.

As with christmas I like my easter decorations to be rather traditional, so my house is filled with bunny's chickens, and eggs.

A lovely sunday :)

Today the whole family has spent hours in the garden. The boy's have been riding their bikes and playing football. while I have spent wonderful hours pottering in the garden, getting rid of the last traces of winter,getting ready for spring and summer.

I had a little wander around looking at the bushes and trees in the garden, it's so exciting to see that buds are shooting up....for an impatient soul like me lol!

An exciting saturday....

Today Benjamins football team had their first football tournament.

And so the whole family took the hour or so trip to the venue to cheer on our favorite team; Strand- Ulv..!! They played 3 matches, but unfortunatly did'nt win. However they all had a brilliant time, and team spirit was at an all time high :) They have only been playing since august, so not pro's yet..but they have fun and it's very social. Now my voice just has to recover from all the cheering I did today :)

Longing for warmer day.

As I look through pictures I took last summer, and see the boys in shorts and caps..it makes me long for warmer weather. I mentioned yesterday how fed up We are with the cold winter we are having, it snowed today infact..!! However it is a comfort to think about when it does start to brighten up, and how this dark cold place is transformed into the most beautiful paradise, where there is no other place in the world we would rather be than right here at home. Our house is on the water front of a magestic fjord in hardanger, where we spend all day swimming and bathing and playing, not even bothering to come home for tea, as we just bbq right there on the beach. April is just around the corner and so must spring be...surely..?????

Spring is in the air..!

March has shown it's self from it's best side today, sun shining and clear blue skies, lovely!
Everyone in the Scott household has been busy with their own things today, Kieran went to a birthday party, James helped his nan in her garden before visiting a buddy, Benjamin played with his friend for 6 hours, and Steven was busy tidying up around the house and garden, getting it ready for the warmer weather. I have been pottering about the house, mostley in the kitchen. The pic below is of some of the most decorative things Ihave in my kitchen, they are from Green Gate, and certainly are bright and beautiful. Just think when these egg cups are filled with little flowers the kids pick for me in the summer, or just how pretty our easter breakfast table will look.

I'm so looking forward to easter and glad to see the back of the harsh cold weather, today realy gave a feeling of that "spring is in the air" and it could'nt be more welcome:)

Waffle day :))

25th March is waffle day here in Norway, so naturally we made waffles for supper :) I prefer mine with a Norwegian brown chesse, made with goats milk, but the boys prefer their waffles with sugar or jam. Either way they where deliciously warm and sweet, perfect end to a lovely week :)

I was flicking through some pictures today, from last summer..and it was so nice to see some sun !! The cold and wet miserable weather we have been having lately is enough to get anyone down :( We need some spring...and summer sun now!!

Happy birthday Mum

Happy Birthday to the best mum in the world.

This morning Kieran and I baked a good old black forest gateau, It has been years since I made one, but it was yummy :) Benjamin made the chocolate cake in the middle of the picture. Luckily My sister has a birthday in two weeks, so a good excuse to eat more cakes...In my opinion the sole reason for birthdays..!!

The boys had so much fun eating waffles on their new table..ok so James and Ben are a little to big for it..but they didnt seem to mind, and Kieran was thrilled to have playmates :)

On thursday Kieran and I spent a lovely day shopping, and we also called in to IKEA. We ate some lunch, and had a look round, but a few things where to come home with us, amongst other things, this little table and chair set. Kieran was so excited to start using it, he was very helpfull putting it together with me :)
